When is World Stress Management Month? The month of August
Why was this month created? World Stress Management Month is meant to bring awareness of chronic illness due to stress. Many individuals who are stressed for a long time become chronically ill. Currently, 77% of individuals are feeling the mental and physical effects of stress. Employers spend 300 billion on average for absenteeism and doctor visits. We need more programs for these individuals.
Who founded this month? This was founded by the Stress Management Institute for Health and Fitness Professionals in 2018.
How should this month be celebrated? This month should be celebrated by communities providing health education courses for the public. Fitness Professionals and Health Care Providers should come together to offer quality stress management programming.
