When is World Population Day? Every year on July 11th, World Population Day is celebrated!

What is World Population Day? World Population Day was created by the United Nations Development Programme in 1989. Life is a precious thing and some cultures and nations have greater resources than others. This Day works to recognize “that the best way to ensure sustainable development is to deliver a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every birth is safe, and every young person’s potential is fulfilled.”

Fun Facts about World Population Day! It has taken thousands upon thousands of years for the human population to reach 1 billion. And in the last 200 years the population has grown seven times over! As of July 2018, the current population is at 7.6 billion people!
