When will World CHE Day be celebrated? October 5th of each calendar year.
What is World CHE Day? World Chronic Hand Eczema (CHE) Day is an international awareness and education initiative built on the principle “Think Global- Act Local.” This initiative aims to collaborate with global dermatology networks, healthcare professionals (HCPs), industry partners, patient advocacy organizations, and people living with CHE to increase awareness and education surrounding this condition.
How should World CHE Day be celebrated or observed? World CHE Day encourages recognition of those affected by Chronic Hand Eczema (CHE) and aims to increase awareness among patients, healthcare professionals, employers, and the public.
The day brings together patients, HCPs, patient advocacy organizations, and global communications initiatives to encourage early recognition, improve support, and promote effective disease management internationally.
Why was World CHE Day created? World CHE Day is created due to limited awareness, misdiagnosis, and inconsistent care pathways where many patients experience years of delayed diagnosis and avoidable burden. Symptoms may include itching, burning, stinging, and visible skin damage that may often impact daily life, work, and emotional well-being. Seven out of ten people living with CHE report covering their hands due to shame or physical discomfort.
World CHE Day aims to recognize those affected, amplify patient voices, and increase awareness that support and treatments are available.
Who created this day? This day was created by LEO Pharma in 2026.
