What is National Tantra Education Day?
National Tantra Education Day is a day that Tantra practitioners share their practices with the general public. This day is recognized all over the world as part of International Tantra Week as a show of solidarity amongst the various lineages and practitioners, putting down their differences and embracing the deep rich traditions that they have in common.
Why is this day being created?
There are several misconceptions in the general public about what Tantra is and what Tantra is not. As a very ancient spiritual practice that many people around the world embrace. It’s important to take the time to educate the public. There also needs to be a time when the various lineages celebrate what they have in common and the benefits that they all offer and share.
How should this day be observed?
It’s a time to reflect on the great Tantra traditions of the various lineages. It’s great for the various schools of Tantra to showcase their particular styles and practices. At the same time, celebrating the rich history of Tantra practices regardless of lineage. Serious practitioners spend this time in retreat and reflection giving them an opportunity to pay homage to their teachers and how their variation of Tantra has impacted their lives. It’s a great opportunity for persons wanting to learn more about tantric traditions to explore the options and potentially initiate a tantra journey.
