We ask our kids what they did at school. So it’s only fair that they return the curiosity. Across the country, parents use National Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day to show their children what they do for a living.

You might ask, who wants to take their kid to work? A lot of people do. Over 37 million Americans did on National Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day in 2018, and that’s across 3.5 million participating businesses. Our children want to see what we do all day.

  • In 2003, boys were included as the date was changed to Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. Many companies already included boys and simply called it Take Our Children to Work Day.
  • Parents are encouraged to send their children to work with other adults on different years. This increases their exposure to different kinds of jobs.
