What is National Sales and Marketing Collaboration Day?   

The great thing about sales enablement is that it brings together two traditionally siloed departments and helps them work together towards a single goal: lead customers to smart purchasing decisions. National Sales and Marketing Collaboration Day would take place during Sales Enablement Month in August and celebrate the two teams coming together with various tools and technologies to that empower sellers and foster seamless buying experiences.

Why is this day being created?   

While National Salesperson Day exists (the second Friday in December) and National Marketing Operations Day is celebrated on April 11th each year, there isn’t a day that recognizes the two traditionally siloed departments that work together closely to establish lasting client relationships for businesses of all kinds. This day will celebrate the two teams collaborating in order to highlight the work that both do that lead to strong and flourishing businesses across the country, and even more so, happy customers.

How should this day be observed?   

Organizations and individuals can celebrate National Sales and Marketing Collaboration Day with a variety of different events, including a happy hour for marketing and sales teams, an off-site networking session, or a joint lunch. However teams decide to celebrate, the event should be designed to help build comradery between the two teams, which directly correlates to efficiency and effectiveness – driving better business outcomes overall.
