National Rendering Day is celebrated on April 21 and encourages reducing food waste through a process known as rendering.

In America, we tend to eat only 50% of animals and the rest is food waste. Rendering is a way of recycling food waste, such as bone and fat, for human consumption.

Rendering processes safely and hygienically otherwise unused portions from animals (i.e. cows and other livestock) into new products and goods so little is wasted.
