When is this day celebrated? April 22

What is National Pinup Day? The Pinup has been an integral part of American Culture since the 1940’s, from bomber plane nose art to calendars and magazines. A pin-up model (known as a pin-up girl for a female and less commonly male pin-up or Dapper Gentleman for a male) is a model whose mass-produced pictures see wide appeal as popular culture. Pin-ups are intended for informal display, i.e. meant to be “pinned-up” on a wall. National Pinup Day exists to perpetuate the classic pinup culture.

Who created this day? This day was founded by Mission Tattoo in 2019.

How to celebrate this day:

  • Every pinup group is different some help bring awareness to community affairs and veterans issues, others work to perpetuate the fashion and lifestyle so close to our hearts.
  • If you are feeling adventurous, get a pinup tattoo!
