What is National Pet Friendly Day?
National Pet Friendly Day honors the hotels, restaurants and breweries that increasingly allow dogs to visit their “pet friendly” destinations. The percentage of hotels within major hotel brands that are “pet friendly” — essentially allow pets in their rooms — has increased more than 50% since 2021. According to a NerdWallet article: 79% of Hilton hotels allow pets; 88% of Hyatt hotels allow pets; 63% of Marriott hotels allow pets. In terms of restaurants and breweries, you increasingly see “pet friendly” patios — particularly in warmer weather climates — that welcome dogs.
How is National Pet Friendly Day celebrated?
Take your dog out to a brewery or restaurant.
Take your dog with you on an out-of-town outing.
Minor league teams could sponsor “Dog Nights Out” on National Pet Friendly Day — where dogs are welcome to the venue.
Why was National Pet Friendly Day created?
We want to increase visibility for hotels, restaurants, AirBnBs and breweries that are increasingly welcoming dogs to their venues. We at Dugger Dinners plan to promote National Pet Friendly Day to hotels, AirBNBs, restaurants and breweries as a day to celebrate bringing your pup in to their establishments.
