Payton Slaymaker

When is National Payton Slaymaker Day? This day will take place on March 11 of each calendar year.

What is National Payton Slaymaker Day? Today is a day to celebrate Payton Slaymaker’s courage strength faith and influence. Payton at 10 years old has reached thousands of people across the globe with her amazing story and journey through DIPG. Join us today in celebrating the life and faith of this beautiful little girl!

Why is this day being celebrated or observed? Payton was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor at the age of 8. She was given just a maximum of 13 months to live (maybe). Payton continues to shock doctors and medical staff across the US and has given people all over the world that have children in the same situation hope. We want to use this day (Payton Slaymaker’s day) to bring awareness to DIPG and hopefully bring more funding to research a cure. DIPG is one of the most underfunded cancers. With no cure and no real treatment plan it almost always results in death.

How should this day be celebrated or observed? We want people to celebrate Payton and others like Payton that have suffered from DIPG or other childhood cancers. We want to encourage people to donate to childhood cancer research programs to help combat this awful disease that is taking the lives of so many children.

Who created this day? This day was created in March 2021 by Scott Mix and the Slaymaker Family.
