When will this Day be celebrated? April 22nd of each calendar year.
What is National No Email Day? This day will allow the world to stop using email for one day. The stopping of emails for one day on “Earth Day”, will result in less stress for all participants and a major reduction in the usage of energy in the world. To use email requires a computer or cell phone. Computers require power and cell phones need charging. Both use power which harms the environment regardless of the method which power is generated. One day off for everyone will be great for all participants and honor the spirit of Earth Day.
Why is this day being created? I, like most people in the world, get stressed looking every day at all my emails. I look at the email counter and work all day to get them all responded to on a timely basis. Its almost impossible to keep up with the inflow of emails. A day off will be appreciated by all participants, and will also be of great benefit to the world in the form of less of energy.
How should this day be observed? This day should be observed by using the free time to focus on Earth Day and ways to improve the environment (by not using energy and lowering your carbon footprint), and by helping others.
