No Apologies Period Day

When is No Apologies Period Day? This day will take place on June 9 of each calendar year.

What is No Apologies Period Day? In a cultural moment of “girl power” and “period positivity,” menstruators are still apologizing for their periods. It’s time for a change, which is why Midol® is encouraging women to break the period apology because periods are NOTHING to be sorry for. #NoApologiesPeriod.

Why is this day being celebrated or observed? For generations, people assigned female at birth have been trained to apologize for everything — the trivial, the everyday, the uncontrollable, and especially their periods. This is called a period apology—the apologetic language and behavior of menstruators when it comes to their periods and period symptoms. It’s time to put an end to it. Stop Apologizing. Period.

How should this day be celebrated or observed? Midol® is on a mission to make periods a sorry-free zone. We want everyone to share their period apology stories and interrupt this cycle of shame and minimizing behavior. Stop Apologizing. Period. Visit midol.com/period-apology to learn more and pass it on!
