When will this Day be celebrated? July 31st of each calendar year.
What is National Mom Bod Day?
As a mom of three, I have experienced all the feelings that come with becoming a mom and realizing my body will never be the same. National Mom Bod day is a day to recognize and celebrate mom bods all over the world! Women go through so much in order to create life. It’s a process that involves parts of us being taken away and other parts of us being added in order to bring new life and beginnings into this world. Let’s celebrate our new bodies and embrace the changes that come with becoming a mom instead of rushing to get back to our “old” selves.
Why is this day being created?
This day is being created because there are too many pressures on women after they have babies. Pressures to go back to “normal,” pressures to look like they once did, pressures to be the same person they once were. Instead of encouraging women to shrink back immediately after having children, we should embrace their newer stronger selves. It’s important that we recognize the natural process of life after becoming a mom and be OK with who we’ve become and what we look like.
How should this day be observed?
Posting a photo of yourself in an outfit that showcases your new body without worrying about what others think. Promoting self-confidence through self expression.
