When is National Milk Chocolate Day? July 28th marks this sweet and special day.

What is National Milk Chocolate Day? Today is the day when we (overly) indulge in the world’s most famous candy. Chocolate becomes milk chocolate when combined with powdered, condensed, or liquid milk. Milk chocolate was created by a fellow named Daniel Peter in 1887. Peter was neighbors with Henry Nestle and worked in Nestlé’s factory. This is where Peter created milk chocolate and continued to work into his 90’s. Apparently Peter was a bit obsessed with making milk chocolate — but we can’t blame him for that.

Fun facts about National Milk Chocolate Day! Chocolate actually has mood-increasing benefits, Yup, chocolate makes more than your mouth happy, it impacts you on a chemical level! This is due to chocolate containing a stimulant called theobromine and a compound called anandamide. I’m not sure how to say either of those chemicals but I sure am grateful for them!

How to celebrate National Milk Chocolate Day: No need to be modest or simple. Today you can each chocolate candy, make a chocolate cake, and drink a cold or hot chocolate beverage.
