National Military Social Media Day

When will National Military Social Media Day be celebrated? November 12th of each calendar year.

What is National Military Social Media Day? Observed annually on November 12th, the day after Veterans Day, National Military Social Media Day calls all Americans to use their social media platforms to amplify the stories, businesses, missions, and voices of the military and veteran community. Veterans Day honors those who served; the day after, this day makes sure they are actually heard. Everyone — veterans, military families, and the civilians who support them — is invited to share a veteran’s story, follow a veteran-owned business, and post with intention. It is not a campaign or a fundraiser, but a simple, free act of service that turns one day of national gratitude into lasting attention for those who have earned it.

How should National Military Social Media Day be celebrated or observed?

  • Educate: Spend the day finding, following, and learning about veteran voices and veteran-owned businesses across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, and TikTok.
  • Engage: Post a photo and a few words about a veteran you admire, and tag them so they see it.
  • Share: Share a veteran’s story and re-share a veteran-owned business worth supporting using the hashtag #AmplifyOurVets.
  • Support: Encourage chapters, organizations, and veteran-owned businesses to coordinate posts throughout the day and recognize standout veteran voices.

Why was National Military Social Media Day created? The military and veteran community has extraordinary stories that rarely reach the full audiences they deserve, and this day exists to amplify the voices of those who served. It gives every American a simple, meaningful action: share a story, tag a veteran, and post using #AmplifyOurVets. The goal is to grow this into a recognized annual social media moment that keeps veteran voices heard on every platform possible.

Who created this day? This day was created by Veteran National Social Media Awards (VNSMA) — a division of the National Social Media Awards (NSMA) in 2026.
