What is National Liberation Day?

A day to celebrate the liberation from anything that was negatively impacting our lives or was holding us back from being a better or more successful human being. This could apply to relationships, careers, health issues, retirements, addictions, and anything of such that had gone away and was no longer an influence over our lives.

How is National Liberation Day celebrated?

By supporting others who need liberation. Share your story or stories of being liberated with those who you know need the encouragement or just share your story with a friend in public hoping that someone in need will overhear you. Be a provider of hope. Gather with friends at some point during the day and have a big toast “TO LIBERATION.”

Why was National Liberation Day created?

I was approaching burnout at my job. It was no longer a job that I enjoyed and no longer a company that I enjoyed. I was working 12 to 15 hour days and was not achieving the level of professional satisfaction that I needed. No support was coming from the corporate level and the workload continued to accumulate. I wanted to leave but I was not a quitter and kept pushing myself for success that I can now see never would have happened. Then, along came COVID. Our business levels went to 0 and I was furloughed. The next day/the first day after the furlough was the most beautiful day of my life. All of the stress, worry, and frustration were gone. I had been LIBERATED. I began sharing the story with others about this liberated feeling and there were so many that knew that feeling well as they too had escaped or had been released from situations in life that had them down. I realized that it would be great if we could all recognize and collectively celebrate being liberated from those hopeless, difficult, and dark situations in our lives.

National Liberation Day was created by Joseph McLaughlin in February 2023.
