When is this Day celebrated?  January 22nd of each calendar year.

What is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day?  This is a national day that celebrates the spouses and significant others of law enforcement officers.

Why is this day being created?  Law enforcement officers have a life of service that takes them away from their families. Which in turn, have their spouses and significant others sacrifice so much for their families, and themselves, all for the betterment of our communities and nation. The spouses that are at home holding down the fort are the unsung heroes who lose so much quality time with their spouses and, in some cases, even lose their spouses so that the world can be a better place. They spend so many nights alone, and when it’s time to say goodbye to their spouses/significant others, they pray that they come home safely. LEO spouses and significant others should have a day that acknowledges them and the silent work they do behind the scenes to help make the world a better place for all.

How should this day be observed?   This day should be similarly celebrated or observed the same way that National Law Enforcement Appreciation day is celebrated and observed.

  • Wear blue to support law enforcement personnel.
  • Post positive stories about police officers on social media.
  • Write cards or letters with your kids and send them to law enforcement agencies.

Who created this day? This day was created by S. Zelghi in January 2022.
