What is National Kava Day?
Kava is a root from the South Pacific, consumed in the beverage form kava is often used in cultural, social and religious ceremonies, deeply rooted in the history and traditions of these islands. National Kava Day is a day celebrated by drinking copious amounts of kava, to recognize the cultural significance of piper methysticum and educate the world on different methods in which kava is consumed.
Why was National Kava Day created?
National Kava Day is being created in celebration and to memorialize the anniversary of the grand opening of North America’s first Nakamal, which means kava bar in the South Pacific, which was established in Boca Raton, Florida by Jeffrey Bowman, premier importer and purveyor of North America’s finest kava on January 16, 2002.
