The 3 Safety Pillars
National Inflatable Safety Day is built on three essential safety practices that every inflatable event should follow:
Pillar 1: Wind/Weather Check
Weather conditions can change rapidly, and operators must continuously monitor wind speeds and forecasts throughout the event. Inflatables should be deflated and secured when winds exceed manufacturer’s recommendations (usually 15–20 mph). Rain, lightning, and severe weather warnings require immediate evacuation and shutdown. A responsible operator always has a weather plan in place before setup begins.

Pillar 2: Proper Anchoring

Unsecured inflatables can become airborne in even moderate winds, posing serious risks to children and bystanders. Operators should use a minimum of one stake per anchor point, driven fully into the ground, and verify all tie-down straps are secure before allowing any use.
