When is this day celebrated? September 24
What is horchata? Horchata is a milky drink made from ground almonds, tiger nuts, or rice.
Why was this day created? As self-professed “snacksperts,” ampm loves helping people indulge their cravings and loves to celebrate snacks of all kinds. And, it’s a shame that something as delicious as Horchata doesn’t have its own day. Since 2001, more and more people have discovered and enjoyed ampm’s Horchata. In fact, it’s by far ampm’s most popular and best-selling drink. By setting aside a day for Horchata, ampm wants to help raise awareness of the cinnamon-y drink and celebrate with the people who already know and love it. And, because Horchata has such a rich history steeped in Hispanic culture, ampm wants to pay homage to its Latinx fans and celebrate the deliciousness of Horchata with them during Hispanic Heritage Month.
How should this day be celebrated? By sharing horchata with friends and loved ones.
