When will this Day be celebrated?  February 28th of each calendar year.

What is National Heart Healing Awareness Day?

National Heart Healing Awareness Day is a day for people to stop and recognize the impact of heartbreaks caused by trauma (abuse, violence, death of family and friends, moving from different locations, bullying, illnesses, etc). It’s a day to start the healing by enlisting the help and support of a professional, journaling, meditating, etc. It’s a day set aside to reflect and continue the healing process.

Why is this day being created?

We have gotten caught up with achieving goals and success that we don’t stop to appreciate how the trauma of every nature affects the decisions we make, and how we show up for yourselves, our family, and our community. I believe with one day set aside to focus on the importance of pausing to reflect can help jump-start the process of healing. Healing will have a ripple effect that positively influences the lives of everyone, community, and country.

How should this day be observed?

Because it’s an individual journey, it should be celebrated by doing something for self which is often difficult as many people tend to feel guilt when they stop caring for others and do something for themselves. It’s a day that can be celebrated at a meditation retreat, a spa, a yoga class, journaling, candle lighting elections sessions with friends and family, a nature walk, or weekend camping. It’s should be celebrated in a way that helps a person remove themselves from the mundane hustle and bustle of life and journey inward.

Who created this day?  This day was created by Annalisa Bahadur in 2022.
