What is National ESPN App Day? A day for sports fans to celebrate the launch of the enhanced ESPN App, with ESPN providing everything it has to offer directly to fans all in one place for the first time ever. The enhanced ESPN App will have new, personalized features and functionality – with the launch timed for a marquee stretch of live sports programming across ESPN platforms with the start of the college football and NFL seasons, US Open tennis, international soccer, women’s college soccer, volleyball, field hockey, and more – with the start of the WNBA playoffs, PLL playoffs, NBA and NHL seasons and UFC just around the corner.
How should National ESPN App Day be celebrated or observed? ESPN, owned by The Walt Disney Company, will celebrate the day via its own social media channels (ESPN social channels on Facebook, X, Instagram and TikTok have more than 550 million engagements per month, an average of 18.5 million per day). In addition, the day will be celebrated during ESPN and Disney television, radio and digital programs including SportsCenter, First Take, Get Up, NFL Live, Good Morning America and more. ESPN will also ring the bell at the New York Stock Exchange that morning and have several out-of-home advertising stunts throughout the day.

National ESPN App Day is being created for American sports fans to celebrate the launch of the enhanced and industry-leading ESPN App, with ESPN providing everything it has to offer directly to consumers all in one place for the first time ever. The launch is giving fans more choice, flexibility and access. The enhanced ESPN App – available to all subscribers, either through ESPN DTC or a traditional Pay TV provider – will introduce a more dynamic user experience. New features will include a new multiview showcase, enhanced personalization, integration of stats, betting information, fantasy sports and commerce, along with a personalized SportsCenter For You.
