National Dentist Day

On what day is National Dentist Day celebrated? March 6

What is National Dentist Day? This day is all about appreciating the dentists in our lives who make our teeth shiny and healthy!

Dentistry is one of the oldest medical specialties. In fact, the first dentist recorded in history was Hesy Ra, who is thought to have lived and practiced in Egypt around 2600 BCE! Before dentistry became a common and organized profession, many barbers would stand in as dentists. In addition to haircutting, hairdressing and shaving, barbers would perform surgery, bloodletting and extraction of teeth!

At the very least, celebrate National Dentist Day with gratitude that your hairdresser today isn’t also your dentist!

Who founded this day? The founder of this day is unknown.

What is the hashtag? Use #NationalDentistDay when posting to social media.

  • Write a thank you card
