When is Day of the Deployed?

October 26th is Day of the Deployed.

What is Day of the Deployed?

Deployment is tough on families. It’s hard on soldiers too. To recognize the courage and the sacrifices our soldiers make, Day of the Deployed sets apart time to celebrate our deployed troops and their families.

Every U.S. military branch deploys soldiers. Deployment can be challenging in many ways, and the determination of our soldiers is admirable. A glimpse at the different service branch anthems tells the tale. Our troops keep rolling on, often into the wild blue yonder, always full speed ahead. They fight through storms and wind, and some—at least, according to the Marine Corps anthem—guard the streets of heaven.

Our troops sacrifice time with their families. Sometimes they even sacrifice their lives on foreign soil. Remember the deployed, and remember their families. Celebrate the bravery of our troops on Day of the Deployed.

Fun facts about Day of the Deployed!

Over 2 million U.S. kids have had a parent deployed at least once since 2001.

Weekends are often the hardest times for the families of deployed soldiers.
