What is National “Clink” and Drink Champagne in Your Kitchen Day?
The kitchen is where life’s most delicious memories and meals are made. Like a sprinkle of Himalayan pink salt or a dash of fresh-cracked pepper, we know that champagne elevates the everyday. So, we’ve created a day that combines the two. Each year on September 16, we at Kitchen Society Design, gather in our favorite space (the kitchen), pop open our trusted yellow-labeled bubbly, and toast to Maison Veuve Clicquot in the heart of our own Maison.
Why is this day being created?
Kitchen Society Design was founded in 2019, in the same spirit of Veuve Clicquot. Like Madame Clicquot, owner Melissa Fitzgerald, is a daring visionary with sparkling taste and sky-high standards. That’s why we store Veuve by the case-full inside our in-house cabinetry line, Society Cabinetry. Designed to be anything but ordinary, it’s custom-manufactured and machine-cut to our design plans – with standards that would make a strict sommelier smile. And each year on September 16, we pop open a bottle (or three…) to toast to our favorite space and everything we’ve created. Now, we’d like to extend the invitation to everyone who loves at-home dining and fine wine-ing to join the Society and sip alongside us in style. (*Clink!*)
How should this day be observed?
A party in your own home is an excellent excuse to indulge. Bring out the crystal coupes and heirloom China, but add in a pretty paper napkin, too. If you’re inviting guests over (the more, the merrier in this Society!), consider a handwritten note in addition to the last-minute text. The dress code? Everyday chic plus something with a little sparkle. Color is key to Veuve’s iconic brand AND any delectable dish. For décor, we’d suggest white and yellow Ranunculus inspired by the signature label. Double down with the snacks by offering dark chocolate-dipped strawberries, popcorn and, of course, French cheese and charcuterie. Stock the wine fridge. Fill the ice buckets. Then, toast to the Society you’ve found, in the “I’d rather stay in” kitchen you’ve crafted. “Clink” Sip, sparkle, and repeat!
