When is National Build Joy Day? This day will take place on December 2 of each calendar year.

What is National Build Joy Day? National Build Joy Day is a celebration that encourages people to spread kindness, no matter how big or small, in order to create joy within communities across the country.

Why is this day being created? We believe everyone’s lives should be rooted in inspiration. Whether you are inspired by joy, adventure or new beginnings, Taylor Morrison is committed to cultivating communities with endless possibilities. Each holiday season, Taylor Morrison, one of the country’s largest home builders, encourages its team members to develop and submit ideas and activities to build joy within each of their communities. A handful of ideas are chosen and funded, and the selected team members are given the chance to bring their ideas to fruition, whether it be creating ‘backpacks of love’ for children entering foster care or paying off a Title 1 school’s lunch debt.

Taylor Morrison has witnessed incredible community impact through its Build Joy program and is looking to scale the meaning behind the initiative nationally. By creating this national awareness day, more communities across the country can join in and build joy for those who need it most.

How should this day be celebrated? The beauty of National Build Joy Day is it can be celebrated in a number of ways! People can build joy by simply opening a door for someone or go bigger by donating critical supplies to a local homeless shelter. No matter what you choose to do, the only goal is to Build Joy in your community.

Who created this day? This day was created in November 2020 by Taylor Morrison.
