National Boss Babes Day

When is National Boss Babes Day? This day will take place on May 22 of each calendar year.

What is National Boss Babes Day? This is a day to celebrate all the strong and dedicated woman who grab life and their careers by the horns. The women who see each opportunity and take a leap of faith. The women who tackle any obstacle head on and utilize it as a tool for growth. And most importantly for the women who are part of a whole tribe of women who are able to straighten another women’s crown without telling the world it was crooked, lifting others to reach for the stars and obtain their true BossBabes status.

Why is this day being celebrated or observed? This day was created as a way to remember my mom, Donna Schwendeman, the original Boss Babe in my life, as well as a day to promote and recognize all the Boss Babes out there. Growing up, mom would have a whole variety of side gigs over the years. From being the resident Avon lady and Girl Scout mom. She also dabbled in iron on transfer shirts, with the added pizazz of puffy paint details. And of course we can’t forget where mom made her greatest mark, babysitting. Taking in each and every kid she could accommodate and treating them as if they were her own. All of these memories remind me of the true boss babe mom was. Again facing any task head on, with complete dedication, all while balancing being a mom of 3 crazy kids.

As I have grown, mentally and emotionally, trying to follow in the shoes mom left for me, I always find myself stopping to think “what would mom do”. She was and always will be my inspiration to be the best version of myself and take on every opportunity that comes my way. I started as a small business, self employed BCBA; living my dream of working my own schedule and doing what I love. When I took the plunge in becoming a CCB consultant it was as if I could feel her smile and pride beaming down. Proud of finding myself and recognizing my true next level Boss Babe potential.

How should this day be celebrated or observed? This is a day to recognize and celebrate yourself and all the Boss Babes in your life; current and past. Anyone who has had a dream and done all they could do to achieve it. Becoming successful, as well as confident in all that you do and all that you are.

Who created this day? This day was created in June 2021 by Heather Schwendeman-Kincaid.
