What day is National Best Friends Day celebrated? June 8

What is National Best Friends Day? National Best Friends Day is a day to celebrate and honor that person you call a best friend. It is okay to have more than one best friend, so celebrate all of your dearest friends on this day.

What is the reason this day was created? We all need friends. We also all have at least that one close friend—someone we can count on to be there for you and accept you as you are. Henry Ford was right when he said, “My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me.”  A famous Proverb reminds us that “A friend loves at all times, and a brother or sister is born for a time of adversity.” Proverbs 17:17. Therefore, use this day to show appreciation to your closest or best friends.

How to celebrate: Make time to spend time today with your best friend. If you live close, do something fun together. Maybe plan your favorite activities or try something totally new, such as a bucket list item. If you can’t be together, use social media to connect. Send a nice note and talk on the phone. Time is something you’ll never get back, so be with your best friend on National Best Friend Day. It’s something you’ll never regret. Then post to social media your pictures or experiences.

What is the hashtag? The hashtag for National Best Friends Day is #BestFriendsDay.

What other national days are there for friends or friendship? There are many other national days relating to friendship. In fact, National Day Archives has a separate subcategory just for friendship. Browse it by using the category button on the top left of the webpage.
