When will Fathers Eve be celebrated? The third Saturday in June of each calendar year.

What is Fathers Eve? Fathers Eve is held the Saturday night before Father’s Day every year. This is about Dad’s celebrating and appreciating each other, showing gratitude for one another, telling stories, mentoring and helping to foster a positive fathering environment. Each event celebrates with a countdown toast at 8 pm local time to all the dads.

How should Fathers Eve be celebrated or observed? We gather together to connect, share and celebrate fatherhood. Typically in an informal gathering (in real life) at someone’s garage, backyard, or a local bar or restaurant, also church groups and other groups or clubs and outdoor events, anywhere you’re together can be Fathers Eve. And you can join online / virtually too – see our website for links and join from anywhere and everywhere! We like to share an annual 8 pm countdown toast, similar to New Year’s Eve, just earlier!

Why was Fathers Eve created? We wanted more time together to celebrate and share the joy of fatherhood, and help each other be better. Wanting not to take away from the Sunday of Father’s Day, we added the Saturday night before as Fathers Eve.

Who created this day? Beginning in 2012, in St. Paul, Minnesota in the garage of Mr. John Francis.
