When is this day? May 30

What is this day? In an effort to create community and family positivity and boost the morale of everyone around us, near and far, we have created “Fakesgiving!”

  • A day to recreate unity and togetherness in a time of quarantine.
  • A day to acknowledge that we are in this together – in a time of quarantine, and not!
  • A day to find a creative way to be together – through social media platforms – sharing dinner time together through Zoom, Skype, FaceTime, etc.
  • A day to be thankful for communal efforts to remain safe and healthy!
  • A day to acknowledge the people that have been negatively impacted by the trying times of the world and honor them.
  • A day to celebrate love and life, health and freedom!

Who created this day? This day was created by Gabriele McCracken in 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.

How should this day be celebrated or observed?

  • This should be a day of togetherness, even when we are apart. We should cook a meal that can be “shared” even if the sharing in our togetherness, is done virtually.
  • We should cook the items that bring us comfort and happiness, like the Holidays, and join in with friends and family virtually, to share in such a meal.
  • Exchange in positivities and thankfulness at this near mid-section of the year.
