When will this Day be celebrated?  February 13th of each calendar year.

What is National Singani Day?

Singani Day is a celebration of the national spirit of Bolivia in the United States after the U.S. Government (TTB) officially recognized Singani as a “distinct product of Bolivia” and a specific “type” of Brandy making it the newest spirits category in the U.S. after an eight year effort by filmmaker Steven Soderbergh and the Bolivian government; the first new category in over a decade. Singani, with a history dating back 500 years, had never been out of landlocked Bolivia until filmmaker Steven Soderbergh fell in love with it during the filming of the movie Che and imported it to the US where it is now available across the country on drinks menus, bar shelves and for nationwide shipping.

Why is this day being created?

After an eight year campaign by filmmaker Steven Soderbergh and the Bolivian Government, Singani, the national spirit of Bolivia, has now been officially recognized by the US Government and TTB as a “distinct product of Bolivia” and a specific “type” of Brandy. It has been a long desired dream to share Bolivian Singani with the rest of the world and now that it is officially being recognized the the US, a Singani Day will create a platform to celebrate the history and cultural importance of the spirit.

How should this day be observed?

The day will be celebrated in concert with bars and restaurants across the country.

Who created this day?  This day was created by Singani 63 in 2022.
