What is National Mamey Day? National Mamey Day is a day to celebrate a fruit that means a lot to our city—the mamey. This day will bring the whole city together with mamey flavored confections, mamey merchandise etc. It’s a day to pay homage to the fruit, its heritage and all the beauty it contributes to Miami.
Why is this day being celebrated or observed? This day celebrates a fruit that is so special to Miami, the mamey. It’s a fruit hailing from Latin America and since our restaurant is also named Mamey we wanted to create this day and pay homage as a city.
How should this day be celebrated or observed? The best way to celebrate National Mamey Day is by enjoying something mamey-flavored, preferably a mamey milkshake (which is the nectar of the mamey gods!). In our specific case we will be celebrating with a week of mamey-themed activities throughout the city culminating in one big event on that day at our restaurant, Mamey.
